how to choose an electric guitar

In order to be a guitarist you first have to choose a guitar (or loan one from a friend ) it’s much cheaper .

Beginners advanced or professionals all have to choose a guitar at least once in life .

•It’s not that easy ,even for pro’s have a hard time choosing one
What to look for :

•Feel

•Sounds

•Features

•Market value

Feel

•When we compare guitars we would consider :

•Neck thickness – thick or thin

•Action –distance between the string and the fretboard,

•Weight – light or heavy (depending on the type of wood ), hold the guitar with your hands and with a strap and check if it’s not to heavy to preform with for a few hours.

•Bridge –easy to move floyd rose

•Try to bend each string –and feel if it’s easy or hard

Brands

•Brands – there are quite a few guitar brands

•Fender, Gibson, Ibanez and many others

•Some might sound and feel better then others ,

•Less known brands are not necessarily worse ,sometimes they are even better.
Custom and signature models
•Custom guitar , is a guitar which it build specially with you characterization

•Signature models , are guitars models which are custom built for famous guitarists . they might be expensive .

Sound
•How it sounds with out an amp ,with an amp

•String shouldn't buzz

•Long sustain

•Stays in tune

•Sound with an amp –balance between clean and distortion (depends on the type of music you play)

•When comparing different guitars try to test them all with the same amplifier to have a true reference.

Features
•Electronics –pickups ,switches and buttons

•Mechanics- bridge ,tuners pickguard

Market value

•There comes a time when a beginner becomes advanced ,and an advanced becomes a pro.

• we might want to sell our guitar

•Make sure you check the prices of new and used guitar models
